Delta (UA 2017)

Tato oblast se nachází se v deltě Dunaje v oblasti Besarábie, sdílené severovýchodním Rumunskem a západní Ukrajinou. Delta je naturalistický dokument ve svém nejčistším smyslu. A nemyslíme tím "jen" dokument o přírodě, i když by jím také mohl být. Ne, jedná se o film, ve kterém je hlavní hrdina samotná delta a lidé, kteří kolem něj žijí a mimo něj, jsou pouze vedlejší postavy.

White winter blizzard covers everything. We can rely now only on saints, on our prayers. The future has sailed away, with us left behind. Astray, we did not board the magic ship. The task at hand is simple - not to perish in the fog, not to die from the cold, not to get trapped under the ice. Not to fall in our own snares. Or are we all in one big trap anyway? Running around in a small circle, counting those who vanished. ... Set in the Danube Delta in the Besarabia region, shared by north-eastern Romania and western Ukraine, Delta is a naturalistic documentary in its purest sense. And we don't mean a nature documentary, although it would certainly qualify as one as well. No, this is a film in which the delta itself is the main protagonist, and the people living around it and off it are side characters.
