Emma Davie (Skotsko)

Emma Davie is a film maker and teacher, based in Scotland where she is programme director of film for Edinburgh College of Art, Edinburgh University. Her last film 'I am Breathing' which she co-directed with Morag McKinnon, won a Scottish BAFTA for Best Director and played in over 50 countries. Previously, she directed for many years for BBC, Ch 4 and others- observational documentaries and films on art- work which has been nominated for a Grierson and other awards. She is currently on the board of Scottish Documentary Institute and has been on the board of EDN and curated documentaries for the Edinburgh Film Festival. She has taught workshops all over the world including DocMontevideo in Uruguay, Crossing Borders in China , IDFA Summer School in Amsterdam and many workshops with EDN throughout Europe. She used to direct and act in experimental theatre, and formed her own theatre company, Clanjamfrie, which did devised shows and large scale multi media performances- she also collaborated with others such as Robert LePage. Emma studied English at Oxford University before doing theatre in Paris. She is currently working on a new film in collaboration with Swiss Canadian filmmaker Peter Mettler.
